How to Install a Lineage os 14.1 ROM using TWRP Recovery

  • Download and transfer the Lineage OS ROM zip file and Gapps package zip file that you downloaded above to your device’s storage..
  • Turn off the device & Boot your device into TWRP recovery mode by long pressing Volume Down + Power key Simultaneously.
  • Once entering the TWRP Recovery menu, clear phone's memory (full) by selecting 'Wipe' option. Once done, select 'Swipe to Factory Reset' on the bottom of screen to perform factory reset.
  • Go back to TWRP main menu, tap on Install and select the Downloaded Lineage OS .zip file that you transferred to your device in Step 1.
  • After selecting the .zip file, do Swipe Right to Confirm Flash on the bottom of screen to begin the custom ROM installation process. This may take some time.
  • Once your ROM is successfully flashed, Go back to TWRP main menu, tap on “Install” and select the Gapps.zip that you transferred to your device in Step 1.

  • Once cache & dalvik wipe completes, hit the “Back” button on-screen and then select “Reboot System” button.

Note:- If faced with boot loop problem, navigate back to TWRP settings, and select 'Wipe cache/dalvik'. This procedure will help resolve any issue with regard to custom ROM installation. That’s it! Prerequisites:

  • This is new [Unofficial] Lineage os 14.1 [Android 7.1] firmware has to be installed on the Coolpad Note 3 model only; if tried on other devices, it might get bricked [To check your device model: Go to Settings >> About phone >> model number].
  • Take a Complete Backup of your Device. This is the most important step as if you screw up something you’ll have a complete backup so you can restore to the previous state.
  • You Need to have a Unlocked bootloader and have a custom recovery like TWRP flashed.
  • Make sure the device has more than 80 percent battery.
  • Most of the custom ROM will not have Google Apps in them. So, you will have to download and install GApps manually.

How to Install a Lineage os 14.1 ROM using TWRP Recovery

  • Download and transfer the Lineage OS ROM zip file and Gapps package zip file that you downloaded above to your device’s storage..
  • Turn off the device & Boot your device into TWRP recovery mode by long pressing Volume Down + Power key Simultaneously.
  • Once entering the TWRP Recovery menu, clear phone's memory (full) by selecting 'Wipe' option. Once done, select 'Swipe to Factory Reset' on the bottom of screen to perform factory reset.
  • Go back to TWRP main menu, tap on Install and select the Downloaded Lineage OS .zip file that you transferred to your device in Step 1.
  • After selecting the .zip file, do Swipe Right to Confirm Flash on the bottom of screen to begin the custom ROM installation process. This may take some time.
  • Once your ROM is successfully flashed, Go back to TWRP main menu, tap on “Install” and select the Gapps.zip that you transferred to your device in Step 1.
  • After selecting the Gapps.zip file, do Swipe Right to Confirm Flash on the bottom of screen to begin the Gapps installation process. This may take some time.
  • Once your ROM is successfully flashed, you’ll see “Wipe cache/dalvik” option, select it and then do “Swipe to wipe” on bottom of screen.
  • Once cache & dalvik wipe completes, hit the “Back” button on-screen and then select “Reboot System” button.

Note:- If faced with boot loop problem, navigate back to TWRP settings, and select 'Wipe cache/dalvik'. This procedure will help resolve any issue with regard to custom ROM installation. That’s it! Your device should now have Official Lineage OS 14.1 ROM installed ! Go to Settings > About phone to verify.
